The Oratory follows Reverend Father Michael Simmons, an African American Catholic priest sent to a posh parish in Ikoyi from Turin, Italy. On arriving in Nigeria, the young priest is introduced to the cruel realities of street kids from Makoko.

He sympathizes with them and wants to help, but to do so, he must step on the toes of his parish’s senior members and has to confront Shuga, the ruthless kingpin who controls Makoko and has the street kids locked up in servitude. Inspired by the story of St. John Bosco, Father Michael risks everything, including his safety, to help the boys.

The film, which is produced by The Nollywood Factory in conjunction with the Salesians of Don Bosco, features a mix of Italian, Nigerian and American actors. American actor and singer, Rich Lowe plays the African American Catholic priest, Michael Simmons. Other cast members include Enyinna Nwigwe, Lawrence Nwali, Florence Okechukwu, Charles Ukpong, Stephen Ogunnote, Andrea Ferrara and David Davidson.
